Driving Directions
When arriving from the south turn right at Maunu Road off SH 1 then take the first left into Kauika Road – Casa Blanca Motel is on the left between 1st and 2nd avenues. Landmark: Maunu Road is SH 14. Look for the sign Hospital and Dargaville to the left – then turn right.
When arriving from the north look for the Casa Blanca sign on the left just after the bend after Central Avenue. Landmark: Burger King and Caltec are on the corner of Selwyn Avenue. Central Avenue is the next set of traffic lights.
Whangarei is a 2.5 hour drive north of Auckland and 45 minutes from the Bay of Islands. We are ideally located for exploring Northland and provide an affordable base for your travels all year round.
Casa Blanca Motel is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Whangarei (3 minute drive to the Vine Street car park). Whangarei Hospital, NorthTec, Kensington Stadium/International Hockey Turf, Cobham Oval and ITM Stadium are all only a 5-minute drive away.
Checkin & Checkout
You can check in any time after 2pm. If you turn up early then you will be welcomed and, if the room is ready, you can check in. Of course, if the room hasn’t been cleaned yet then we cannot release it. We guarantee all rooms are ready by 2 o’clock. Reception is always open until 10pm. If you are going to arrive after that time then call us (09 439 1759) and we will stay open for you. There is a Night Bell next to the Reception door which you can use if Reception is closed.
Cancellation Policy
We are relaxed about people who have to cancel their booking. There are no charges if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance and, although we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee after that time, we normally waive it if the guest calls us. (Please call 09 438 1759 or 0800 11CASA.) But please note that if you book with Booking.com (or Agoda, Trivago etc.) we are not in control of the booking and we cannot cancel it. You must go back to the booking agency and cancel with them but if you call us we will try to help you.
We reserve the right to charge ‘No Shows’ the full cost of the booking. A no show is a customer who does not show up and who does not phone to say they cannot make it.
House Rules
Despite being right next to State Highway One the Motel is very quiet so we ask guests to keep the noise down at night. If you want to be noisy then go to the Games Room and shut the door. Other than that we only care about safety. Children must be supervised when using the pool or the spa.
